Benefits for families in Belo Horizonte
BRASIF also sponsors the Pró-Renda Familiar project, an income generation program for low income women. They take part in classes and seminars, learning notions of business management , along with activities like embroidering, cooking and manufacturing clothes.
The project also offers easy access to loans, information on job offers and advice for those who want to start their own business.
Due to the high number of participants that have shown interest on fabric handcraft activities, a new workgroup, called Boas Mãos (Good Hands), was created. Women in the group are assisted by an artist, a fashion designer and a professional seamstress.
Since its creation, the Pró-Renda Familiar program has directly benefited hundreds of families.
